Disability Education & Advocacy Network (DEAN)
The Disability Education & Advocacy Network (DEAN) is a cross-disability organization led by disabled people who are experts in the fields of inclusive disability education and advocacy. We are proud of our network of disabled people and advocates from around the world. We provide unique perspectives on disability in educational and social service settings. Our mission is to pave the way for an equitable future free from prejudice and discrimination by empowering disabled people and their allies to lead, organize, advocate, and educate in their communities. We envision a society of full participation, meaningful inclusion, and equity.
We’ve run the Disability Equality Education project with Disabled in Action, with funding through the PADDC since 2017. By bringing disability representation and conversation into education we believe that our next generation can grow up without the prejudice that ignorance can create.
Nothing About Us Without Us is at the heart of who we are and what we do.
We believe that disabled people are key to creating more inclusive systems and environments that are essential for disabled people and beneficial for all.
